šiuolaikinė penkiakovė statusas T sritis Kūno kultūra ir sportas apibrėžtis Kompleksinė sporto šaka – individualioji ir komandinė daugiakovė, kurią sudaro jojimas įveikiant 15 kliūčių (konkūras), fechtavimasis špagomis (iki pirmojo sėkmingo dūrio su kiekvienu varžybų dalyviu), šaudymas iš mažojo kalibro (5,6 mm) pistoleto (20 šūvių, 4 serijos iš 25 m nuotolio), plaukimas (300 m laisvuoju stiliumi), bėgimo krosas (4000 m). Varžybos trunka 1 dieną. Laimėtojas nustatomas pagal taškų sumą. Šiuolaikinė penkiakovė atsirado XIX a. antrojoje pusėje Švedijoje. Anksčiau (iki 1948 m.) vadinta karininkų daugiakove. Dabartinį pavadinimą turi nuo 1948 m. Į olimpinių žaidynių programą įtraukta 1912 m. Pasaulio čempionatai rengiami nuo 1949 m. Lietuvoje pradėta kultivuoti karininkų po Pirmojo pasaulinio karo. Pirmasis Lietuvos čempionatas surengtas 1956 m. atitikmenys: angl. modern pentathlon vok. moderner Fünfkampf, m rus. современное пятиборье
